The Proposal

As told by Kevin and Kristen

So... a little background... A few years back, on our Anniversary, I planned a nice little day where I got Kris a new camera we ended up in the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens. We took a bunch of pictures in the gazebo in the rose garden, and she calls this the best thing I’ve ever planned.
And it is the best thing you’ve ever planned.
So you say... Either way, I knew I had the perfect venue.  And now all I needed was the ring.  (I thought up some other elaborate schemes that involved trap doors and people popping up here and there, but I had to keep it true to the man delivering the message... it had to be simple)
Simple is the operative word. LOL
Bah! Back to the ring... Kristen has this jeweler.  I forget where she found him.

Mom introduced us - He owes her at least a free ring cleaning now :)
So anyway,  she had him make an earring for me. Turns out the guy is a real nice guy.  So a month prior to the actually popping of the question, Harmeet (the jeweler) and I were scheming designs for the ring.  Now through my various eaves-droppings on conversations with her and jewelers/girlfriends, I had a pretty good idea of what we were shooting for. When the ring was ready, I told her I wanted to go to a particular event at the Gardens.
It was a class on growing stuff
It was a jamboree.  Either way, it was all a set up to get her to the gazebo.  After a lot of complaining (the class didn’t start for an hour!) I managed to get her in the right place.  She turned around and saw me on one knee asking her to marry me and she said “Are you serious”
I mean…
After some convincing (there was no convincing! I just wasn't sure that you were serious), she decided she would go along with this crazy plan to make a life together.
